Gillians are the first Evolution Stage of the Race, Hollow. Gillian NPCs can spawn in Karakura (uncommon), Hueco Mundo & Menos Forest. Non-Player and Player Gillians almost completely share the same skills, except for the latter having Acid Spit and the exclusive one-time ability to escape from wherever they are currently. It is recommended to use said ability only if one is endangered of dying.
Obtainment[]
Following the Hollow Starter Guide, you obtain "Gillian" by first, leveling up to Level 20 as a normal Hollow. Then, you kill a Red-Eyed Hollow. After that, you kill another Red-Eyed Hollow.
Note : Once you kill your first red-eyed hollow, your character will turn into a red-eyed hollow.
Progression[]
There are two different ways to continue from here:
Following the Hollow Starter Guide, after being alive as a Gillian for 30 minutes AND getting 30 kills (must have the killing blow to receive kill credit), the Gillian will automatically turn into an Adjuchas.
A Gillian can bypass the first method by pressing G, which afterwards wouldbe given a Mini-Game. Should a Gillian complete this Mini-Game, they will have their mask taken off. This turns them into the weakest type of Arrancar, the Menoscar. This method is highly unrecommended as the Menoscar has the weakest buffs among theArrancars, and doing this will sacrifice the ability to progress any further. (You'll also get a pinocchio looking ahh nose..)
Alternative Strategy: Staying as a Menos Alternatively, you can attack and let someone else finish off the enemy. This way, your Kill Count bar won’t increase, allowing you to remain a Menos all the way to level 191, which is one of the most enjoyable builds in the game. Once you reach level 30, you won’t regress anymore as a Menos. Additionally, you can use an Impure Hogyoku to change your mask to be an Ancient Menos. THIS IS PURELY COSMETIC.
RECOMENDED ROUTE FOR LEVELING: Once you reach Menos get a skill reset and use it to max out either cero or stomp, after that farm storm vastocars until lv30(if you can't get a skill reset you should still be able to do this)
Regression[]
If a Player Gillian dies, they will revert back to a normal Hollow and will have to go through the Obtainment process of becoming a Menos all over again.

Facts[]
The difference between a Menos and Ancient Menos can be shown by their mask, if their mask has a long nose, it is a normal Menos. Whereas otherwise, it'd be an ancient Menos.
It is possible to bypass automatically transforming to an Adjuchas by never receiving kill credit as a Menos.
If you combat log as a menos you will become hollow (except if you're level 30+)

By never turning into an Adjuchas, one can grind to max level as a Menos and really mess with new players that're trying to attack/avoid what they think is an NPC Gillian. How? If you have a friend you can do about 60% of the NPC'S health while you finish them off. The max level is 191, so they'll have to stick with you until then. Another method of reaching max level as a Gillian is simply killing Storm Vastocars, which is much easier as a Gillian than it is even as a Vastocar. Whenever your hollow kill bar gets uncomfortably high, simply trick a high level player into killing you, resetting the kill progress.
Due to the absurd amount of damage and health a Menos has, people have and still can go into low-level Time Gates to dominate the opposition.
You can become an Ancient menos by using an Impure Hogyoku as a menos. ( But evolving as an ancient menos will NOT result in ancient adjucas )
