Description
Quincy are living beings that have the ability to detect the existence of Hollows and other Souls. Most of the Quincy were exterminated by the Shinigami over 200 years ago in order to prevent the collapse of the worlds due to the Quincy over-hunting and destroying all Hollows they encountered. Quincy are the polar opposite of Shinigami because they erase the hollows they kill from existence, which disrupts the balance of the worlds. When a Shinigami slays a hollow, they cleanse them of their sins committed as a hollow and then get sent to soul society as a soul and go through the reincarnation cycle again. Quincies do not contribute to this when they kill hollows/souls.
